Altar Society

Members consist of all women of the parish who work to make the church more attractive and edifying for the liturgies. Meetings are held quarterly.

Knights of Columbus

Description: A Catholic fraternal men's organization dedicated to supporting our Bishops, Priests, Church, and community. St. Mark's and Sacred Heart, Colwich have combined to establish Council #9510.
Commitment: Monthly meetings and group events.

Baked Goods

Donate baked goods (cakes, pies, cookies) to be served at various social functions and fundraisers throughout the year.

Bingo Volunteer

Description: Help set-up and clean-up, serve concessions, or work at the bingo games.
Commitment: Twice a year.

Church Cleaning

Description: Clean and dust the church as scheduled and assist with general church cleaning as needed.

Commitment: Twice a year.

Cinnamon Rolls

Description: Assist in preparing, packaging, and selling cinnamon rolls on scheduled Sundays. Proceeds benefit the St. Mark's Altar Society.
Commitment: The first Sunday of the month (during the school year).
 

Parish Dinners/Receptions

Description: Assist in setting-up, cleaning, preparing or serving parish dinners, receptions and other social functions.

Commitment: Varies, usually twice a year.

Parish Social Events Coordinator

Description: Organize social events to foster parish life, cultivate friendships, and have fun.

Commitment: As needed.

Purchase Food/Supplies for Funeral Dinners

Purchasing (with Altar Society funds) items necessary to serve funeral dinners.

Provide Salads or Desserts for Funeral Dinners

Donate a salad or dessert, when called upon, to be served at funeral dinners held at St. Mark’s.

Assist in Preparing Food for Funeral Dinners

Description: Assist in preparing meals for funeral dinners held at St. Mark's. Duties include preparing meat and vegetables and peeling potatoes.
Commitment: As needed.

Serve Funeral Dinners

Help set-up, serve, or clean-up following a funeral dinner at St. Mark’s.

Commitment: Set-up and preparation from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.; or, serving and clean-up from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. 

Compassionate Care Ministry

Description: Members offer loving, prayerful support to parish families who experience the loss of a loved one. Members are asked to pray when notified by phone or email. Members may also assist with refreshments after rosaries and a prayer service on All Soul’s Day, as well as provide continued support for the family throughout the year.

Commitment: A few hours for each funeral.

Hand-quilted Quilts

Parish women can share their talents with needle and thread by creating quilts by hand. Quilts are raffled at the annual Quilt Raffle/Bingo. Proceeds benefit the mission of the Altar Society.

Tied Comforters

Description: Parish women share their talents by creating comforter tops while non-sewers tie the comforters. Comforters are used for the 21 Tied-Comforter Bingo. Proceeds benefit the mission of the Altar Society.
Commitment: An hour and a half, twice a month.

Marriage Preparation Couple

Assist the pastor on an as-needed basis to prepare engaged couples for the Sacrament of Marriage.

Re’MARK’able Moms Group

Join other stay-at-home moms and their children monthly for daytime social activities and support in building a domestic church.
Commitment: Monthly meetings average 2-3 hours.

Welcoming Committee

Description: Welcome new parishioners to St. Mark's parish through personal visits and providing encouragement to become involved in the parish community.
Commitment: To visit those newly registered. 

Summer Coffee & Doughnuts

Individuals or families who prepare coffee, order, and serve doughnuts after Sunday Masses as scheduled.

School Year Coffee & Doughnuts

Individuals or families who prepare coffee, order, and serve doughnuts after Sunday Masses as scheduled.

St. Mark’s Golden Achievers

Description: The Golden Achievers meet for food and fellowship once a month and plan other activities that may be of interest or needed by the group.
Commitment: Meet on the 4th Sunday of the month at 11:00 a.m. in the Heritage Room.
