St. Mark Adult Choir Member

Description: Individuals lend their voices in song to enhance the liturgical ceremonies and Masses throughout the year.
Commitment: Practice one night a week and sing at scheduled Masses.

Heritage Choir Member

Description: Join other individuals in lending voices in song to enhance liturgical ceremonies and Masses throughout the year. Many songs reflect the traditional German Catholic heritage of this community.
Commitment: Practice varies, usually twice a month plus scheduled Masses.

Grade School Choir Assistant

Assists Grade School Choir Director in providing music for congregational singing and youth choirs as scheduled. The Grade School Choir consists of students in grades 1-6.

Grade School Choir Parent Volunteer

Help the Grade School Choir Director and assistant in supervising its members and help where needed as requested by the director. The Grade School Choir consists of students in grades 1-6.

Teen Choir Assistant

Assists Teen Choir Director in providing music for congregational singing and teen choirs as scheduled. The Teen Choir consists of students in grades 7-12.

Teen Choir Parent Volunteer

Help the Teen Choir Director and assistant in supervising its members and help where needed as requested by the director. The Teen Choir consists of students in grades 7-12.

Offertory Gifts

Individuals or families are invited to carry the Offertory Gifts to the altar during Masses when scheduled.

Lead Rosary Before Mass

Individuals or families volunteer to lead the rosary prior to weekend Masses.
Commitment: Typically one weekend Mass per month. The individual/family chooses which of the three weekend Masses to be schedule for.

Sacristan (Sunday)

Description: Volunteers are responsible for keeping the sacristy in order, preparing the altar for Mass, filling votive candles, putting the appropriate linens on the altar according to liturgical year for Sunday Masses.
Commitment: 1 Mass every weekend, or every other.

Volunteers are responsible for keeping the sacristy in order, preparing the altar for Mass, filling votive candles, putting the appropriate linens on the altar according to liturgical year, etc., for weekday Masses

Lector (Weekend)

By lectoring at Mass on Saturday evening or Sunday morning, the lector proclaims the Word of God to His people, and offers prayers of petitions on their behalf.
Commitment: Two hours of initial training, and one weekend Mass approximately once every other month, depending on how many lectors are signed up. Each lector may choose to lector for a particular weekend Mass.

Proclaim the Word of God during the weekday Masses as scheduled.

Usher/Greeter

Description: Greet worshipers as they arrive for Mass, assist them to their seats when needed, be alert to their needs, and gather the offertory collection at Mass. Be at the church entrance 20 minutes before Mass and on special occasions to greet and welcome parishioners and guests.
Commitment: Weekend Masses for a month period.

Flowers for Altar

Description: Parishioners grow garden flowers or otherwise provide flowers to beautify the altar of the Lord and/or donate their talent in arranging flowers.
Commitment: Make weekly flower arrangements for a month, twice a year.

Launder Altar Linens

Parishioners commit to laundering and ironing altar linens, and server vestments.

Sew and Repair Vestments

Mend or repair priest’s vestments and altar boy vestments when needed.

Commitment: As needed.

Church Decorating (seasonal)

Description: Provide assistance in decorating the church in the days immediately preceding Christmas and Easter and removing the decorations at the close of the liturgical seasons. Decorations are placed both inside and outside the church.
Commitment: A few hours twice a year.
